Reduced Summer Hours!

With sunshine and warmer weather, knitting now has some competition for our time. But who's not happy about gardening or golfing? With that in mind, we're opening one hour later and closing one hour earlier. Tuesday through Friday: 11-5; Saturday 11-3. If you ever have a yarn emergency or need to come to the store before or after regular hours, just call the shop the day before and we'll be happy to accommodate you.
"The Great American Afghan" Club

If you have an interest in knitting the "Great American Afghan" from Cascade with a group, let us know. It's an amazing work of art and especially appealing to first-time afghan knitters. You'll learn a broad range of knitting techniques, one square at a time. And you'll have the flexibility to choose color and design for your own masterpiece.

Knitting: Your Gift to Others!

Interested in sharing your gift of knitting? We have two great community projects underway in which either you or your knitting group could get involved.
For elderly senior citizens, St. Vincent Basilica has undertaken "Christmas Shawls and Scarves" for at least 300. Washable, worsted weight is suggested, and free patterns are provided. Encore, a 75% acrylic and 25% wool blend, offers warmth and machine washability. Contact Ron Patun at
724 539-3828 for more information.
For babies, Excela Westmoreland has requested "Newborn Baby Hats" (they need about 150 each month!) A soft, washable yarn is preferred. We suggest Dreambaby DK (50% microfiber, 50% nylon)
or something similar. Contact Debbie Reese at 724 837-9181 for more information.
Both community projects appreciate complete knitted items, monetary donations for additional yarn purchases, or appropriate, good quality yarn from your stash. Knit-Wits is offering a 10% discount on yarn purchases for these projects (to be completed and returned to the shop within a reasonable period of time.) Further, you may drop-off your contribution and we will deliver it to Excela Westmoreland or St. Vincent Basilica. Thanks! We know you'll answer the call!
Knit-Wit Knit-Ins

Join us on the 2nd Thursday of each month from 11-2 for our Knit-Ins. Get help, share your latest project, and get inspiration from other creative women! Eileen is here to help with those pesky problems!
